From deep and brooding to fragile and haunting, the sound of the violin can evoke a range of emotions. Harmonnia Junus understands this better than most, having devoted her life to mastering the instrument’s language, and sharing its beauty with the world.
To celebrate the 300th birthday of her exquisite Giovanni Grancino, Harmonnia will perform a selection of favourites from the violin repertoire.
Showcasing how our love of the violin has evolved over the last three centuries, this performance will feature pieces by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Franck, and Sarasate; as well as an abridged version of the Butterfly Lovers’ Violin Concerto, written by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang, and a contemporary piece written especially for this performance.
